PostSubject: Seeking Advice: Purchasing Laptop   Sun 13 Apr 2008, 5:42 am

I've heard Mac would be best to own but considering all aspects like durability and usablity, which of the following brands would you best recommend: Toshiba, Sony, HP or Mac?

I haven't considered which particular models to compare but for a Mac, I am considering the MacBook Air.

Specs I'm looking into: speed and memory. I need a laptop because I travel a lot. I'm quite sure most models are wi-fi capable already so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll use mostly for programs like Photoshop and Premiere.

I'm not very clean on what's the latest in terms of Ghz, GB's and processors but I think there's something newer than the Intel core Duo processor (correct me if I'm wrong). I've talked with some people but they can only say that HP is customizable but cannot recommend anything specifically.

I've also considered just getting an iTouch but that's just gonna allow me to go online and other stuff that does not include using programs that I specifically need.....

If you're knowledgable about these things and know you can help me on this, please PM or send me your yahoo id. I am seriously considering purchasing my own laptop and I want it to be worth the cost.

Anyways, help please!

Well that may depend on your lifestyle or profession, if you are always on the go get a laptop which has WiFi enabled and not bulky to handle, MAC is nice laptop, however all of us has its own preferences. Laughing

I guess so...

By the way, these two have been suggested: MacBook Pro at 2.6 GHz and 250 GB compared to Toshiba Tecra A9S9021V.

Mac only has a maximum of 2-years warranty (extended warranty with additional fee) and minimum ports.

Toshiba has 3-years warranty with multiple ports, you can fit almost anything to it.

BUT:

Mukhang mas-stable OS ng Mac...

I guess what I'm really after is ano ang pinaka-stable, durable at long-lasting in terms of using video, sound and photo editing programs.

The 3-year warranty is very tempting and so is the price (Mac would be almost $3,000 and the Toshiba would be around $1,500 to $2,000 total. I'm sure there are better deals somewhere). But... They say a Mac is a Mac...

Can't decide!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahhaha! Nice term... lol!

Siguro kahit anong man-made creation may bugs pa rin... Guess nothing's perfect and just have to settle for what's the best out there.

Gaya gaya lang naman kasi Vista and still has it's pitfalls.

So far, Mac pa rin daw when it comes to photo and video editing...

Guess maganda and Windows pang-office.

Thanks for all the inputs. I've made up my mind. Just be happy with the best I can get. Nothing's really perfect and technology is ever evolving... affraid
